The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“The best among you are those who learn the Qur’an and teach it.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari)
This beautiful Hadith reminds us that learning and teaching the Qur’an is among the most noble acts a person can perform. It is not measured by age, status, or background — but by sincerity and dedication to the Book of Allah.
When we sit to learn the Qur’an, whether perfecting our Tajweed, improving our pronunciation, or understanding its meanings, we are engaging in one of the greatest forms of worship. Every letter recited carries reward, and every effort made to correct our recitation brings us closer to excellence.
Teaching the Qur’an multiplies that reward. A teacher who patiently guides students in proper articulation, Arabic sounds, and Tajweed rules is continuing the legacy of the Prophet ﷺ.
Let us strive to be among those praised in this Hadith — learners of the Qur’an and, when able, teachers of it.
